Labor Day? It’s a joke. How do you celebrate “labor” when millions live off the government (on endless “COVID relief”) while the rest of us labor to pay taxes to support them? Productive work is only meaningful when you’re able to keep the rewards of your own labor. America consists of two classes: the keepers, and the kept. It’s not labor; it’s involuntary servitude.
The government is to blame for shutting down businesses in the first place, and for transforming temporary unemployment into a permanent guaranteed national income above market rates. However, the moral status of people who continue to accept these government transfers of wealth, with jobs so plentiful–that speaks for itself.
