MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is facing calls to resign after he compared Bernie Sanders’ victory in the Nevada caucus to the Nazi invasion of France. Sanders won the Nevada Democratic caucuses with 47 percent of the vote, the Associated Press reported.
Ah, yes. The spectacle of a long-time Democrat reaching the dead end of his long-held contradictions.
Suddenly, we’re living in an Ayn Rand universe. It’s all black-and-white, everywhere you turn. As Rand always said, it’s either freedom OR tyranny. It’s either private property OR socialism. It’s either individual rights OR the rule of the mob. America’s founders grasped this, too.
You can’t have both. That’s why we got a Bill of Rights. That’s why we got a republic — NOT a democracy, where a Bernie Sanders can take a 51 percent majority to confiscate all your money, or even put you in a gulag tomorrow, if it suits him.
I don’t expect Chris Matthews will ever grasp it. I fully expect the apology demanded by his fellow woke conformists will be forthcoming. He will be shamed and humiliated by the Commies who took over his party, and he will surely not stand tall. Because he has nothing to stand on. “Moderation” between two irredeemably polar opposites like freedom vs. slavery is not attainable. It never will be. Commiecrats get this, and they chose their side.
Poor old school Democrats like Chris Matthews never will.
