Without first naming Kaepernick, Rapinoe began her speech by thanking the person “I don’t feel like I would be here without,” describing this person as “someone whose courage and bravery was so bright and so bold, a person filled with conviction, unafraid of the consequences because he knew it really wasn’t about playing it safe, it was about doing what was necessary and backing down to exactly nobody,” she said, as reported by The Huffington Post.
In what WORLD do these lefties live?
“Conviction”? For what? Certainly not conviction for freedom. The flag doesn’t stand for race, creed or nationalism of any kind. Not in the USA. It simply stands for freedom. At its best, the American flag represents individual rights and liberty. If you’re against these things, what on earth are you FOR? Does it even matter?
“Playing it safe”? Has this woman spent five minutes as someone who’s NOT a leftist? Does she actually think it’s UNSAFE to go out into the world of Hollywood and corporate leftists and … be a leftist? Does she identify with Kaepernick because she sees HERSELF as being brave and determined? Being brave and determined means going against the prevailing winds, especially when you know you’re right. How do people like her go against any prevailing winds? They ARE the winds!
Does Megan Rapinoe actually believe that if she had come out, after her sports victories, and stated, “I stand by President Trump. I can’t wait to go to the White House”, that it would be an act of CONFORMITY? That there would be no resistance?
Colin Kaepernick and people like her don’t have to back down to anybody. Because everybody else is saying the exact same stupid garbage she is.
Had she stuck to sports, it might have been a different story. But she had to open her big mouth and be “brave” — at saying the same inane, insane and ridiculous things that everyone else in our culture now says.
It’s hard to know whether to detest or feel sorry for people like Rapinoe. She thinks so very, very much of herself. And there’s so very little to think of.
