Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that Republicans needs to “force the conversation” of healthcare reform onto the industry’s back, contending that if the industry does not change, Medicare for All will win.
This is a leftist argument more than a free market one.
The only obligation of any business–including a health care business–is to please customers. Government should not be involved at all, other than to prosecute fraud or uphold contracts. Democrats want government to control everything, in a monopolistic, command-and-control frenzy.
The only rational alternative is to let businesses be businesses, and leave them free to figure out how best and most profitably to meet the needs of customers.
We leave the market largely free to provide us with food, clothing, cars, computers and entertainment. When will we do the same for medical care? THIS is what Republicans should be arguing. And for once, they should mean it.
