“Dr. Ford deserves to be heard.” That’s where Republicans went wrong. Any accuser without evidence, without corroboration or any possibility of any — ever — does not deserve to be heard. If so, anyone could be charged with any crime, at any time, for any reason. Republicans know this, but were afraid to say, “She doesn’t deserve to be heard.” It set the stage for even more ridiculous accusers, not just with Brett Kavanaugh, but with President Trump, any future appointees of his, and any Republican whatsoever. Republicans acted on fear. Whenever you act on fear, then dishonorable, dishonest and malicious people smell blood — and they will respond just as Democrats have reacted. Big, big mistake and a tragic error for our nation.
