For decades, when Democrats and progressives have been accused of sexually predatory behavior, progressives have defended them by saying, “It doesn’t matter. He does so much for women.” Most notoriously, they did this with President Bill Clinton. Nancy Pelosi, who’s living in the 1990s, still does it today.
It was always deeper than politics. While defending the indefensible, progressives basically have been saying, “If you care about women as a group, then individual women don’t matter.” They will never admit it, but it’s what their words, actions and defenses always implied.
And now, in 2017, it’s no longer working.
Matt Lauer, the longtime left-wing anchor of NBC’s Today Show, was fired Wednesday over allegations of sexual misconduct, according to the New York Times.
Along with Charlie Rose at CBS, Lauer is the second morning anchor to lose his job over sexual misconduct allegations. Last month NBC fired political commentator Mark Halperin after numerous women claimed he had behaved in appropriately with them while he was working at ABC/Disney.
Just 12 hours ago, another pillar in the left-wing elite media fell over allegations of sexual misconduct, NPR’s chief news editor David Sweeney. Less than a month ago, Michael Oreskes, NPR’s senior vice president of news and editorial director, was forced to resign over similar accusations stretching back decades.
If you care about “women”, you have to care about individual persons who happen to be women. There’s no disintegrating the two. That’s what collectivist, Communistic and socialistic mindsets never get. They detest and sneer at individualism and laugh at the idea of personal accountability. But at the end of the day, it’s an individual human you’re treating with dignity and respect, or not.
It’s not a stretch to imagine these sexually predatory leftists thinking and feeling things like, “What the hell. I can do whatever I want. I’m a Democrat and I’m progressive.” Unearned moral superiority is a dangerous thing. It’s dangerous for your victims. But in the long run, it’s dangerous to yourself as well.

President Donald Trump is presiding over the total crack-up and breakdown of the elite and entrenched, self-righteous and arrogant leftist Democrat media Establishment. He’s doing it without firing a shot. Nor should any shots be fired. When dealing with an enemy like our hostile and nonobjective media, all you need to do is turn them against themselves. And it’s happening.
