The Manchurian Pope

When we talk of a President installed by an evil force to bring down America, we label such a president a “Manchurian Candidate.”

It appears the Catholic Church now has a Manchurian Pope.

“If I speak of Islamic violence, I must speak of Catholic violence,” Pope Francis said on Sunday. “And no, not all Muslims are violent, not all Catholics are violent. It is like a fruit salad; there’s everything.”

In his response, Pope Francis seemed to suggest that jihadists killing innocent people in the name of Allah is not significantly different from a Catholic who kills his girlfriend or mother-in-law, presumably for motives unrelated to the Christian religion.

Francis acknowledged that there are “violent persons of this religion [Islam],” immediately adding that “in pretty much every religion there is always a small group of fundamentalists. Fundamentalists. We have them.”

This gives new meaning to the term “loving your enemies.”

A Catholic priest in France was recently butchered by Islamic terrorists while saying Mass. Does Pope Francis have so much as a harsh word for them? Not a word. It seems that he saves his harshest language for things he really does hate – capitalism, individualism, reason, freedom, and self-interest.

Interestingly, these are the very things Islam, including its most consistent practitioners (terrorists) are after. Maybe the Pope feels a certain kinship with them, in that the jihadists and the socialist, collectivist Pope deep down hate the same sort of things.

“I had a long conversation with the imam, the Grand Imam of the Al-Azhar University, and I know how they [Muslims] think,” bragged Pope Francis, no doubt to the coos, oohs and aahs of smug progressive jihadist-enablers in America. “They seek peace, encounter.”

This is the stuff of which conspiracy and paranoid theories are made. Not only does America keep electing presidents who act like they’re on the side of the Islamic terrorists; now the Pope acts and speaks as if he is, too.

Keep in mind the context.  These comments took place not even a week after two ISIS terrorists killed Father Jacques Hamel while he said mass in his own church, in France. A witness to the attack described how the two men forced the 86-year-old priest to his knees, slit his throat and filmed themselves appearing to preach in Arabic at the altar.

How on earth can a Catholic Pope call Islam a religion of peace when attack after attack occurs on a nearly daily basis, this time a brutal and savage one against a peaceful, elderly member of the Pope’s own church?

Now if you want to understand the real motives of the Pope’s self-effacing tolerance of Muslim brutality, then consider these remarks:

“Terrorism grows when there are no other options [emphasis added], and when the center of the global economy is the god of money and not the person,” Francis said. “You have cast out the wonder of creation — man and woman — and you have put money in its place. This is a basic terrorism against all of humanity! Think about it!” he said.

No other options!? Whatever happened to, “Thou Shalt Not Kill”? Pope Francis is essentially saying terrorists have no choice other than to slit the throats of priests, topple skyscrapers, chop off heads, open fire in gay bars and blow up private parties and celebrations. And their excuse, according to Pope Francis? Capitalism.

Ah, there it is. And now do you wonder why progressive anti-capitalists in America and elsewhere so like this Pope? And Islam too, for that matter.
