You had better celebrate the 4th of July in the manner of a socialist like Hillary Clinton supporter and professor Robert Reich … or else!
Former Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration and current University of California Berkeley professor Robert Reich wants Americans to be vigilant this July 4 against “exclusive patriotism” that “asserts a unique and superior ‘Americanism.’”
“We hear a lot about patriotism, especially around the Fourth of July. But in 2016, we’re hearing about two very different types of patriotism. One is an inclusive patriotism that binds us together. The other is an exclusive patriotism that keeps others out,” Reich writes.
“An inclusive patriotism that binds us together.” Robert Reich actually thinks this is a GOOD thing.
This morally depraved runt wants us “bound” together. And he’s honest about it. That’s exactly what socialists and progressives do want. They treat individuals as part of one happy family. Or a not-so-happy family.
Regardless, the choice is not yours.
According to collectivist leftism, you belong to the state, meaning the government, regardless of what you want. Sure, the government lets you keep a certain amount of your income; to have a certain amount of free speech; or possess a certain amount of control over your destiny. However, the government decides where to draw the line. Based on what? Based on what the government determines is best for all. Who decides this? People like Robert Reich, conveniently enough.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Patriotism is not something to “bind” us together. The only rational form of patriotism stems from loyalty to a government who protects your sovereignty over your mind, body and life. It’s not Robert Reich’s job or right to determine the course of our lives; it’s our own right, and our own responsibility. This applies to every area, whether it’s the books we choose to read, the health care we choose to purchase, the education we choose to provide for our children, the weapons we buy for self-protection, or anything else.
According to Reich’s attitude and ideology, we are all a family. He places the adult individual – in America, of all places – in the same status as that of a helpless child. Somehow, we’re to assume that people like him (the politician-parents) know what’s best for us (the citizen-children), and therefore should direct the family relationships as he sees fit.
The analogy is deeply disturbing, and Reich’s Freudian slip reveals much. The parent is ultimately sovereign over the child’s life. That’s the exact attitude of statists and socialists like Robert Reich, and his probable future boss, President Hillary Clinton, when (heaven help us) she finally attains her lifelong lust of being president.
“Inclusive patriotism instructs us to join together for the common good,” he says. “Such patriotism requires taking on a fair share of the burdens of keeping America going — including a willingness to pay taxes.”
Really? This is freedom? This is liberty?
Is it an individual’s job to keep his or her country going — or to keep his or her own life going? When Reich states that it’s the job of all citizens to “keep America going,” he’s implying the individual’s duty is to the state and country. How is this any different from right-wing nationalism? Collectivism is collectivism, and slavery is slavery, even when it comes from the sneering and arrogant, socialistic establishment left.
Where does the Declaration of Independence state, or even imply, that the purpose of government and taxes is to join together for the common good? What is the common good? Protection of property and individual rights for the purpose of maintaining sovereignty over one’s body and mind? Or is it something else? Robert Reich, just like all socialists and statists throughout human history, has something else in mind.
It’s sickening, almost beyond words, to think that this mentality has gained so much ground in America, and seems poised in the upcoming election to gain even more ground. (Hillary Clinton’s lead in the polls right now is of landslide proportions.)
Robert Reich lecturing Americans on the 4th of July, no less, about the importance of sacrificing one’s individual rights for the sake of the moralistic twittery that he and his corrupt bosses stand for? It’s enough to spark another rebellion. But it won’t, because a majority, I suspect, are content with things as they are, with government taking responsibility for all of our well-being, or at least providing the illusion that it could.
If a majority of Americans really want this mentality in charge of ruling us, then we’re truly finished as a great nation and society. Those who vote for it deserve the decline.
