In response to being called a ‘right-wing nut job’ by Obama’s former press secretary Robert Gibbs, Donald Trump said the following:
‘The Obama representatives like Robert Gibbs attack people viciously, but people like me will not be silent and will answer them back,’ Trump said. ‘It is a shame that they are so vicious and hateful—and that is why the country is so terribly divided.”
‘Obama and his attack dogs have nothing but hate and anger in their hearts and spew it whenever possible,’ Trump added. ‘Obama has no solutions. Obama has failed the country and its great citizens, and they don’t like it when somebody such as myself speaks the truth about this — it hurts too much.”
Trump is right. The two characteristics of leftists today are (1) the psychological state of projection and, (2) the lack of a concrete alternative, leading to anxiety over being questioned and as a result, an attack mentality.
Projection refers to seeing in others the quality one loathes or fears in oneself. Leftists are generally hateful. They might not be hateful in areas outside of politics, but in the realm of politics they are hateful. And they’re hypocritical, too.
Imagine if an Obama supporter were called a ‘left-wing nut job’ by a prominent former Republican official. The outrage would be deafening. Yet when Obama’s former press secretary Robert Gibbs calls Donald Trump a ‘nut job’ for daring to oppose Obama and his policies, it’s taken as a matter of course.
Leftists are very big on opposing hatred. They attack the emotion of hatred and even go so far as to question its legality, as in ‘hate crimes.’ Once we establish the notion that hatred—a form of thought, rational or not—can be against the law, the way is paved for dictatorship.
This is particularly important because leftists are perfectly fine with hatred, so long as it’s against people they consider as having wrong views. When they condemn ‘hatred,’ it’s really dissension and opposition they’re fighting against.
The left has no intellectual basis for what they seek to do. All they have is Obama. Obama is unable to make a case for reelecting himself. His policies have clearly failed. The real estate market has not come back, unemployment has not appreciably dropped, and economic growth barely registers. Government red tape and bureaucracy—something a majority of Americans consistently oppose in polls, even though a majority did elect the Big Government Obama—are more intrusive than ever. A majority oppose Obamacare, but it stands as the law of the land anyway. Medicare and other entitlement programs still enjoy popular support, but by everyone’s numbers (including Obama’s government economists) they are fiscally unsustainable. The Republicans raise this fact, and are blasted as hateful jerks who want to ‘push grandma off a cliff’ merely because they state the obvious.
The leftists and their party, the Democratic party, have become the bully party. Bullies are weak at heart and weak in intellect. A bully has nothing to contribute except fostering fear in the hearts and minds of others. A bully stands for nothing; only against anyone who dares question his self-proclaimed authority. This is Obama in his reelection effort, and has been the general attitude of the Obama administration to date.
Remember that when Obama was trying to pass Obamacare, he established a White House email address where citizens were encouraged to ‘report’ to the government anyone who ‘spread lies’ about his proposed plan for socialized medicine. The purpose was to intimidate people. Short of an outright order by the government forbidding dissension, there wasn’t much teeth behind the effort, but the very idea of a President encouraging citizens to ‘report’ people who disagree with him—that’s out of the pages of Nazi or Communist handbooks, not the U.S. Constitution. Likewise, the health care bill—which ultimately passed with a narrow majority vote—was going to be ‘deemed’ into law by the leftist Speaker of the House, at the time, something of questionable Constitutional legitimacy. ‘Deemed’ is another word for pushed, shoved or bullied.
It makes sense that the Democratic and leftist party should be the bully party. Bullying refers to force and intimidation. Leftist policies are, virtually without exception, based on force and/or intimidation. Leftists are social engineers, treating people as one gigantic collective pawn to be manipulated or coerced at the hands of the government.
Obama is a bully. He and his supporters call opponents of his socialized medicine plan ‘murderers’ for daring to question or oppose it. His vice president has called members of the Tea Party ‘terrorists’ for challenging Obama’s policies in a strong and principled way.
Under Obama, self-assertion, independence and dissension are out. Leftist attitudes are the attitudes of fascists and dictators. If America’s economic condition worsens under his continuing rule, what will leftists do to translate this psychology of fascism into practice? Dictatorship could happen, even in America—if the economy keeps going down. Obama and his leftist bullies are more than up to the job of suppressing dissension.
The question is: Are the rest of us going to let them do it?
