Why Obama and People Like Him Hate Israel

Associated Press reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sat alongside President Barack Obama on Friday and declared that Israel would not withdraw to 1967 borders to help make way for an adjacent Palestinian state. Obama had called on Israel to be willing to do just that in a speech the day earlier.

The Israeli leader said he would make some concessions but Israel would not go back to the lines from decades earlier because they would be “indefensible.”

For his part, Obama said that there were differences of formulations and language but that such disputes are going to happen “between friends.”

Obama, who’s supposed to be so incredibly brilliant, is

once again wrong. “Friends” are people who agree on principle, but who sometimes disagree on specifics. Israel and the Obama Administration disagree on fundamental principles.

Consider Iran, a growing and mortal threat to Israel. The Obama Administration has repeatedly declared that Iran is not a serious threat, and that Iran is, in fact, a potential ally of the United States. The U.S. has continued to hold this position despite past and continuing threats by the government of Iran to blow Israel off the planet, to “wipe Israel from the map” as soon as the nuclear capability exists to do so. Imagine if Israel made the same threats against Iran? The outrage would be staggering.

Imagine if your friend was threatened by a local Mafia or gang leader. Would you make an effort to be friends with the violent thugs who threatened your friend? If so, what kind of friend would this make you? And what would it say about you that you wanted to be friends with such violent and atrocious people?

Obama, like his predecessor in the White House, is an apologist for Islam. Unlike his predecessor, Obama is really serious about it. Islam is no more a ‘religion of peace” than Communism was an ideology of capitalism, or Naziism was a politics of individual rights.

Iran and other nations or organizations who most threaten Israel are Islamic in both principle and practice. To oppose the enemies of Israel is to oppose Islam. Obama knows it and cannot tolerate this fact. He’ll do the bare minimum, through clenched teeth, that he must to make it look like we’re still allies of Israel. But he doesn’t mean it.

AP continues: Netanyahu said his nation could not negotiate with a newly constituted Palestinian unity government that includes the radical Hamas movement, which refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist. He said that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had to choose between continuing the deal with Hamas and making peace with Israel.

Netanyahu has principles. His primary principle is survival for Israel. Israel is a mostly free country which largely respects individual rights and even religious differences, despite its founding as a nation based on Judaism. Islamic nations and Islamic terrorist groups, in contrast, do not respect the right of anyone to exist who disagrees with them — not Israel, not the United States, not anything or anyone which fails the litmus test of rigid Muslim faith.

Israel is much more than a sanctuary for Jews. It’s a sanctuary for freedom and individual rights in a part of the world where nothing like that exists. No, Israel is not perfect; but Israel appears perfect next to the poverty, stagnation and religious fanaticism which dominate other societies in that part of the world.

Put it this way: If you had to live in the Middle East, where would you go — Israel, or anywhere else?

In a matter of decades, Israel built a civilized, literate and desirable society in a primitive land. Everybody was against them. Today, Israel is a fully modern nation that makes its neighbors look like barbaric primitives — which, for the most part, they are. This is Israel’s greatest sin in the eyes of those who oppose it. It’s not so much about religion as it is about envy, jealousy and the sheer insanity of the gang leaders posing as political leaders who run the rest of the Middle East. These gang leaders have been excused to one degree or another by most American politicians, Obama most of all.

Netanyahu is a hero for that part of the world, for Israel and for the concept of freedom against the oppression of fundamentally religious totalitarian states. Netanyahu is a far greater man than America’s own president, Obama. Obama claims to care about freedom, including the survival of Israel, but his actions — from apologizing for American strengths to pleading with Iran to please like us — consistently show otherwise.

Obama and others like him hate Israel partly because they favor Islam, but mostly because they hate success stories that remind them of America. Israel makes neighboring countries look like the failures they are, and for that (to them) it must be punished.
