Shakespeare Got It

“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep. The more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite.”

— Shakespeare

Shakespeare got it. Love is selfish. In other words, when you love someone, they have already paid you by being who they are. You gain by loving, when your love is earned. Because you gain, you want to give. Love is a trade. Love is an exchange. Love, when it exists, is mutual. Those who claim love is “selfless” are phony, illogical and just plain wrong. Those who think love is a loss are not in love, even if they think they are.
